Prayer is

Prayer: The act of communicating with God, the supernatural being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe; the object of worship. Especially as a petition, of adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, or an earnest or urgent request with reverent regard and feelings of profound respect, willingness to serve with devotion, considered hallowed and exalted, in awe of, worthy of worship and praise, as controller of the universe, all force, and all aspects of life, who is the personification of the union of God and man in the person of Jesus Christ.
